I was approached by the producer of the Stonewall Inn’s regular performance, Muse Mondays, to work as a resident artist. This burlesque, drag, and performing arts show provides a safe space for trans, queer and femme people to express themselves. As a quick sketch artist, I drew poses of performers as they danced. We’d use this art for peripheral promotion materials and environmental displays during the show itself.
Loving the colorful lighting and how is played with my paints, I would take candid photographs of my finished work after every show. Some examples are shown below. I want to thank all the performers for their trust. It has been such a treasure to get to know each of these individuals as artists and friends.
